Our choice was greatly influenced by the fact that the StockM system and the StockM team have many years of experience in implementing the system in companies of various sizes and profiles. Inventory management is also based on the well-known world-class TOC theory, which is built into the system and works on these principles.

The implementation of the StockM system went smoothly as the StockM team was nearby throughout the project, quickly and efficiently resolving any issues and answering questions. Already in the first months of implementation, in accordance with the principles of stock management operating in the StockM system, we made fundamental decisions, changed the existing supply chains and their parameters, which significantly improved the situation with stocks in our company.

Our Entafarma supply and purchasing team was actively involved in the implementation of the StockM system, so it was important for us to understand how the system works. The functionality of the system, ease of use, simplicity and transparency are also important. Employees like the first StockM screen, which lists the tasks everyone has to complete each day in order not to forget and get the tasks done correctly. The fact that the system automatically checks all items and proposes to change the stock level only to selected items saves a lot of employee time. It also automatically forms purchase orders for suppliers according to a set schedule, shows overdue orders and draws attention to other situations that require attention and resolution of the employee.

StockM has a reporting module designed for very specific shortage or surplus cases, which allows us to make quality decisions when negotiating with suppliers.

We are a provider of microclimate solutions, we sell and install heating, cooling and ventilation systems. We have a wide range of products, so we constantly strive to ensure the availability of goods for our customers in physical stores in Kaunas and Vilnius.
We decided to implement the StockM system because we wanted to automate the ordering process and manage inventory more efficiently: to optimize the level of inventory and at the same time ensure that we do not run out of goods.
Our decision to implement an inventory management solution was influenced by a detailed explanation of the entire implementation process and the StockM team was actively involved throughout the project. So the whole process went smoothly on schedule.
After implementing the system, we felt that our ordering process had become much smoother. Employees can now take on other important tasks such as negotiating with suppliers, managing the range, preparing for seasonal fluctuations. Since 2006 our company is engaged in wholesale of hand tools and power tools and their accessories, fasteners and other materials. We have been managing the stock with the StockM system already for 7 years. Before implementing the system, we faced irregular order formation – customer employees did not always manage to calculate and send on time or did not send orders at all. And it was hard for our managers to control it. The lost sales due to shortages of goods was about 25 percent.
With the implementation of StockM inventory and assortment management system, the situation has changed dramatically. First of all, orders have become regular. Our employees’ labor costs for inventory management reduced by 80 percent. Lost sales reduced to 5 percent, increasing customer loyalty. The turnover of goods, especially raw materials, has increased, helping to significantly “release” the working capital. We used our common system for both sales and stock management before the implementation of StockM system. So we felt a lot of support in the speed, accuracy and implementation of order management after the introduction of StockM. We currently have 5 divisions and I think it would be difficult to imagine our operations without StockM inventory and assortment management system. The surplus of goods in the warehouse has decreased significantly, which also saves money for the company. And, most importantly, we have reduced the amount of lost sales to the limit that is most acceptable to us. During the installation, we had excellent training, the information was presented in a clear and understandable manner, and all issues we had were discussed. The work was done professionally. The StockM team also responds quickly to questions that arise to us.

Stock planning has become much simpler due to the functionality of the StockM inventory and assortment management tool. Information accessed conveniently, clearly and promptly, proposals are provided in accordance with the established normative information. With the help of StockM system, the process of internal stock distribution from the warehouse to divisions has become much faster, more transparent and more accurate. The stock was successfully managed already in the first year, although we were expanding our range and the sales were growing.

There are IT companies that develop specialized stock management solutions without getting a deeper insight into the customer’s situation, but only by doing what the customer comes up with improvising. Meanwhile, usually a customer (often a stock manager rather than a process analyst or a senior manager) simply seeks to automate the existing procedures and has no deeper analysis of what could be more appropriate for the company (what concept would be more efficient, what would create more value in the supply chain). Some IT companies are trying to copy StockM innovations, and there are few experts in this field (but without automation solutions in their “portfolio”), but certainly no one – at least in the Baltic States – can ever offer a better integrated stock management solution. Especially when it comes to the commerce business with a wide (multi-thousand) range of goods and at least several remote warehouses or retail outlets.

Working with StockM inventory and assortment management system and interacting with the system developers, the stock management module PROMO2 has been improved and released, taking into account our suggestions. The system has become more flexible, with new system capabilities emerging in addition to the former useful features. Various problems and uncertainties arose at the beginning of the work with the Promo module. It was quite difficult to switch to another management style because previously, we were used to working the old-fashioned way. It was difficult to master the Promo and Period modules – we had to change the work style, thinking and learn to trust the system, although we were used to checking the data regularly. Of course, we still have a lot of work to do, “there is no limit to perfection”. But now the direction of movement is clear because the algorithms are obvious indeed.

I have worked with a couple of ERP modules focused on managing inventory and stock distribution (most of them using statistical forecast or MIN-MAX), but none of them was so effective and successful in managing overstock and lack of goods as STOCK-M.
